ICOM Slovenia Award 2018
This year’s award ceremony took place at the second congress of museum professionals that took place between 20 and 22 September in Brežice.
The Award for internationally recognizable projects:
The Award is granted to individuals, groups or organisations that foster dialogue at the international level through international and inter-institutional cooperation, participation and collaborative projects that promote development and the role of museums as institutions, and thus contribute new ideas and raise awareness.
The Award went to the Slovene Ethnographic Museum for the project SWICH – Sharing a World of Inclusion, Creativity and Heritage.
The Award for promoting the annual selected ICOM theme:
The Award is granted to individuals, groups or organizations who, through the preparation of exhibitions, projects, and events on the topic of the International Museum Day, encourage creative reflection on the given topic, and thus reflect the current and engaged state of the museums in the world.
The Award went to the Museum of Architecture and Design, for the project Far, So Close, 25th Biennial of Design (BIO 25).
